Leah Marie Remini is an actress and activist from the United States. She was born on June 15, 1970. She played Carrie Heffernan on the long-running CBS sitcom The King of Queens from 1998 to 2007, and she played Vanessa Celluci on the CBS sitcom Kevin Can Wait from 2017 to 2018.
Remini co-produced and hosted the A&E documentary series Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath from 2016 to 2019. For this, she won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special.

Leah Remini was born Leah Marie Remini in Brooklyn, New York, on June 15, 1970. Vicki, her mother, was a teacher, and George, her father, ran a business that got rid of asbestos. She grew up with her sister Nicole and her half-sisters Stephanie, Shannon, Elizabeth, and Christine. In 2013, Stephanie died of cancer.
Remini was raised Catholic, but when she was 9, her mother started dating a Scientologist, and Leah soon joined the group. Vicki, Leah, and Nicole went to Clearwater, Florida, to live at a Scientology compound. When Leah was 13, they moved to Los Angeles. Remini quit school when she was 14 so she could focus on acting.

In 1988, Leah had her first acting job on “Head of the Class.” In 1989, she had a part in “Who’s the Boss?” She then joined Halle Berry in a spin-off of “Who’s the Boss?” called “Living Dolls.” The show had 12 episodes. On 6 episodes of “Saved by the Bell” in 1991, Remini played Stacey Carosi.
She also appeared on “Cheers,” “Friends,” “Evening Shade,” “NYPD Blue,” and many other shows before getting “King of Queens,” which ran for 9 seasons and 207 episodes (1998-2007). She worked with Kevin James on “King of Queens,” and then she joined the cast of his CBS show “Kevin Can Wait” in 2017.

Remini married actor Angelo Pagán at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas on July 19, 2003. On June 16, 2004, their daughter Sofia was born. Pagán also has three sons from a marriage he was in before.
From 2014 to 2015, Leah and Angelo were on their own reality show on TLC called “Leah Remini: It’s All Relative.” The show had 26 episodes, and several of Leah’s family members, like her mother Vicki, stepfather George, and sister Shannon, were in them.

Leah Remini is glad that a new part of her second act is coming to an end. The 51-year-old actress and activist said on Saturday that she had just finished the final exams for her first semester at NYU.
“It hasn’t been easy going to college for the first time at 51 after spending most of my life in a cult and only having an 8th grade education,” Remini wrote on Twitter, referring to the many years she spent as a member of the Church of Scientology.
