Lady Gaga Takes Off Her Dress and Makeup to Perform at the Oscars 2023!
Sunday night, Lady Gaga shocked the crowd when she changed out of her Donatella Versace runway dress and into a black graphic tee, ripped jeans, and Chucks.
The shocking news came after a back-and-forth about whether or not the pop star would even perform, since producers had said just days before that her schedule wouldn’t let her.
Gaga took the stage in the second hour of the 95th Academy Awards to sing “Hold My Hand,” the song she wrote for “Top Gun: Maverick” which was nominated for an Oscar.
The performance was a third of the night. During the Oscars telecast, all of the nominated original songs were shown. At the end of the second hour of the Oscars, “Naatu Naatu” from “RRR” won the status of Best Original Song.
Producers said at first that Gaga wouldn’t be able to perform because of her work schedule on the second “Joker” movie. The AP and Variety both said earlier on Sunday that there seemed to be a change that would make it possible for her to join the show.
This was Gaga’s fourth time being up for an Oscar. “Shallow” from “A Star is Born” won Gaga her first Oscar for Best Original Song in 2019.
She was nominated for Best Actress in 2019 for “A Star is Born” and for Best Original Song in 2016 for “Til it Happens to You” from the documentary “The Hunting Ground.”
