Kantai Collection Season 2: Release Date, Plot, Cast & More
Kantai Collection, often known as ‘KanColle,’ is a popular anime television series in Japan. It was developed by Diomedea based on the Kadokawa Games game series of the same name. In the anime, humanity is threatened by an abyssal armada that has seized control of the oceans.
The only ones ready to combat the threat posed by the abyssal fleet, which has seized control of the oceans, are human females known as kanmusu who wear armed clothing and possess the spirit of ancient navy ships. The kanmusu share a residence on a naval base, where they conduct their daily lives while beginning to prepare for battle.
Anticipated Release Date Kantai Collection Season 2
The second season of KanColle will premiere in 2022, Kadokawa announced in January during the Chinjyutu New Year Live show. However, following the conclusion of the first season, the first production of the second season began in 2015. According to reports, the second season will be an independent 1944-set piece unrelated to the first.
Where to Watch the Kantai Collection Season 2
As with the first season, the second season of Kantai Collection will likely be available on the streaming service Crunchyroll. The first twelve episodes of the series’ first season are accessible on the site.
The first 12-episode TV anime series premiered in January 2015. As the episode aired in Japan, it was streamed online by Crunchyroll. In June 2017, Funimation released the show with an English dub and subtitles on DVD and Blu-ray Disc. We anticipate that the sequel will adhere to a similar trend.
The Plotline of Kantai Collection Season 2
A large group of female characters from the anime “Kantai Collection” portray various vessels during World War II. The protagonist of the story is a character named Fubuki who enters a naval base as its newest recruit and has the spirit of a destroyer in the first episode of the series.
The remainder of the anime is told from Fubuki’s point of view; nevertheless, the program does contain a variety of characters, symbolizing the various collectible characters in its video game source material, from that point forward.
The destroyer Shigure is the focal point of the Nishimura Fleet, which will play an important role in Season 2 of the show. Because Vice Admiral Shoji Nishimura was a real-life naval officer, the “KanColle” Nishimura Fleet is modeled on his fleet of ships.
The Cast of Kantai Collection Season 2
The sequel will feature the return of the original cast and the introduction of new characters in subsequent episodes. Currently, Kantai Collection’s cast includes talented voice actors such – as Saki Fujita, Yumi Tanabe, Aya Suzaki, Yui Horie, Iori Nomizu, Yui Ogura, Risa Taneda, Kozue Hayasaka, Wakana Miyawaka, Mana Komatsu, Ayana Taketatsu, Yuki Yamada, and Nao Tōyama. Miura, Kazuya, is the director, Tanaka, Kensuke, is the scriptwriter, and Imaizumi, Yuuichi, is the sound director.
What Can We Expect From Kantai Collection Season 2?
According to the leaks and the removed trailer on the MyAnimeList forums, the new season will feature the following. In Season 2, the destroyer Shigure will be the focal point of the Nishimura Fleet, which performs an important role.
The Nishimura Fleet in “KanColle” will be modeled on the fleet of real-world naval officer Vice Admiral Shoji Nishimura. In addition, the since-deleted MyAnimeList video hinted that the plot of Season 2 may mirror the historical battle at Surigao Strait during World War II. Nevertheless, “Kantai Collection” is not noted for its historical authenticity.
Vice author Jonathan Gad, for instance, noted that the series’ heroes’ victory at the Battle of Midway led to an American victory in the actual Second World War. Consequently, it is projected that the Nishimura fleet will prevail in Surigao Strait.
