The Tamil movie Kaalangalil Aval Vasantham, whose title translates to “Among seasons, she is spring,” was shown in theatres for the first time on October 28 of this year, after the festival of lights known as Diwali. In December of 2021, the movie was officially unveiled.

What is the Storyline of the Movie?
The characters of Shyam, Radhe , and Anuradha are at the centre of the plot. A cinema buff named Shyam keeps a journal in which he lists all of the romantic things he wants to accomplish. Anuradha develops feelings for Shyam when he waits for her in the rain outside her dorm room.
Even before Shyam and Anuradha’s relationship had a chance to start off on the right foot, he is introduced to Radhe. Shyam and Radhe eventually tie the knot, and after that, their lives is filled with nothing but joy and contentment. But eventually, Radhe comes across his journal.
She finds out that he treats every lady he likes in the same manner by using the same formula. Radhe does not want Shyam to behave in a way that is consistent with filmy romantic concepts, but rather for Shyam to be himself. Their married life is thrown into disarray as a result of this.
Anuradha, meantime, is also looking for him at this time. The rest of the story is comprised of the events that take place afterwards. The plot of the film is on Shyam’s yearning for genuine affection as he makes his way from the cocoon to the open.

Reviews of Kaalangalil Aval Vasantham Movie
Despite the absence of textual help, Kaushik sells this hard role admirably. He plays this man-child character well given Tamil doesn’t have many examples. He’s good for everything except sad scenes. In her second film, Anjali plays an overachieving woman who struggles to manage her husband.
However, Hiroshini, Shyam’s on-and-off love interest, makes us chuckle with her limited screen time. Kalangalil Aval Vasantham would have been difficult to watch with incompetent lead actors, yet the trio works hard to make the scenes work.
Kalangalil Aval Vasantham’s relationship troubles are caused by suppressed emotions, not misunderstandings. Most romcoms use misconceptions in the second act to solve in the climax. However, in this film, two different persons are locked in a room for long enough to cause pandemonium. Every character in the film explains why they’re wounded and how things may have been handled better.
When a story discusses lust, intimacy, and love after marriage, it risks becoming judgmental and labelling. Raghav handled these subjects with dignity. At a love triangle, the female who doesn’t receive the boy is either ignored or becomes a saint in the conclusion. Even she receives a nice closure here.
I also enjoyed how Kalangalil Aval Vasantham is a self-aware, basic film that shoots just for the ceiling. Three people’s relationships are the film’s focus. It doesn’t aim to share an unreported narrative, express a social message, or raise awareness.

The film avoids commercial tropes like kuthu dance numbers, track comedy, and melodrama till the end. With the arrival of a villain, sensible writing crumbles. A long weepy monologue and theatrics follow, making you forget the film’s strong points. As the action emotionally detaches viewers from the characters, this last act adversary is the film’s villain.
“Unakku idhu puriyaadhu da, nee dhadhi, adhunaaladhaan enakku unna pudikum!” Radhe says to Shyam several times in the film. It means: How I wish I was as ignorant as Shyam in KAV to see past its terrible final act.
