Joe Biden Relationship: Dr. Jill Biden and President Joe Biden’s Enduring Love Story

A love affair that will last a lifetime! President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden (née Jacobs) have built a strong marriage that has lasted more than four decades, starting with their first marriages and progressing to becoming the first couple in the United States.
Joe and Jill first met in 1975, following the tragic deaths of the politician’s first wife, Neilia Hunter Biden, and their infant daughter Naomi “Amy” in a car accident in 1972. The educator, on the other hand, had just finalized her divorce from Bill Stevenson, just moments before she met Joe for the first time.
It didn’t take long for their relationship to develop into something more serious, especially after she began assisting Joe in the care of his sons, Beau and Hunter. Five times, the former senator proposed to his now-wife before she consented to his marriage proposal.
“[After each proposal], I responded with the words ‘Not yet.'” Not at this time. ‘Not at this time.’ Because by that point, of course, I had fallen in love with the boys, and I was convinced that this marriage had to work,” she explained to Vogue magazine in November of that year.
It was because they had lost their mother that I couldn’t bear the thought of them losing yet another mother.” As a result, I needed to be absolutely certain.”

As a senior, I had been dating men who wore jeans, clogs, and T-shirts, and when he showed up at my door dressed sharply in a sports coat with loafers, it struck me as impossible to make it work. “Not in a million years,” I thought to myself as he walked through the door.
According to Jill Biden in Vogue. “He was nine years older than I was at the time of our meeting. But we went to see ‘A Man and a Woman’ at a movie theatre in Philadelphia, and it turned out that we were a perfect match.
When we returned home, he shook my hand and said good night… In the middle of the night, I went up to my room and called my mother, telling her, ‘Mom, I’ve finally met a gentleman.'”

“As a political spouse, I’ve discovered that my stoicism often comes in handy,” she wrote in her letter.
