James Allen's Early life
James Allen was born in the United States in Milton, Delaware, but relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2007. For the duration of his first few years in Nashville, he was impoverished, and he frequently lived in his car. He auditioned for American Idol's tenth season but was eliminated before the live voting rounds.
He sang alongside Colton Dixon and befriended Scotty McCreery during one group round on American Idol. The two reconnected and toured together following the publication of Allen's debut album. They went on to succeed in the competition that year.
James Allen's Career
Wide Open Music, the songwriting brand of singer-songwriter Ash Bowers, signed James Allen to a publishing agreement in 2016. After doing a talent presentation for business executives in early 2017, he was signed to Broken Bow Records' Stoney Creek subsidiary. He released his self-titled debut EP, which Bowers produced. A song from the EP, “Blue Jean Baby,” has been added to Spotify's “United States Viral 50” list.
He released his first official song, “Best Shot,” in early 2018. The song was included in a music video and reached the top of the charts for Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, and the Billboard Hot 100. The week it was released, it was the second most-added song to country music radio playlists.
His debut album, Mercury Lane, was released in October 2018. Bowers also produced the album, named after the street where James Allen grew up. His debut single, “Best Shot,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in November 2018, becoming the first Black artist to accomplish so.
The album's second single, “Make Me Want To,” was released to country radio on February 1, 2019, and became the number one smash on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
Allen and Abby Anderson recorded a cover of Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's “Shallow” in May 2019. The audio recording was also made into a video. “This Is Us,” Allen's duet with Noah Cyrus, was released in 2020. It was released as part of his new EP, Bettie James, on July 10, 2020.
The project's second song, “Freedom Was a Highway,” a duet with Brad Paisley, was released on February 1, 2021. It became Allen's third No. 1 hit and Paisley's twentieth on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in February 2022. Allen became the first Black solo artist to win New Male Artist of the Year at the 2021 ACM Awards (at which he also performed a duet with Brad Paisley).
He has been declared as one of the celebrities that will compete in Dancing with the Stars season 30 in September 2021. He and his partner Emma Slater were the ninth and last couple to be eliminated, finishing in seventh place. On November 10, 2021, James Allen was named New Artist of the Year at the CMA Awards. Fifteen days later, he appeared in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Allen said he would be a guest mentor on American Idol in February 2022. (season 20).
James Allen also sang “Don't You Wanna Know” for Noah Shnacky's 2022 album Thoughtfully Reckless and a duet with Nick Carter in “Easy”. On March 8, 2022, Allen will release the lead song from his upcoming third studio album, “Down Home.”
James Allen's Net Worth
James Allen‘s net worth has risen dramatically in the recent decade as a result of his achievements. His blossoming music career, which is still in its early stages, accounts for the great majority of his personal income. Despite this, according to Exact Net Worth, his net worth is estimated to be around $1.5 million. This amount is expected to more than quadruple after he becomes a household name for a decade or two.
Allen, on the other hand, isn't very concerned with increasing his money at the time. Instead, he's preoccupied with raising his two children—a six-year-old and a one-year-old—as well as growing his fan base and arranging his next album. He's also loving his time on Dancing With The Stars season 30.
James Allen Bond With Mike Parker
On Sunday's edition of American Idol, Mike Parker moved country musician Jimmie Allen to tears by telling him that he motivated him to pursue a career as a Black artist in country music. Mike Parker, the 27-year-old carpenter from Warrenton, Virginia, remarked in a confessional of James Allen, a guest mentor on the programme, that “his story is what drives millions of folks that look like me.”
Mike, who was one of the 12 candidates competing in the program, which was shot on-site at Disney's Aulani resort in Hawaii, was chosen to perform one of Jimmie's hit songs without even realizing his idol would be on the show. Mike informed Jimmie that he had been studying a lot of Jimmie's talks on the subject in order to figure out who he was as a country singer. He was going to sing his hit song Best Shot.
‘Are you going to sing that awful song?' Jimmie cracked a joke. ‘With that song, I became the first Black Country singer to break into the genre and have a debut number one.' It's so amazing to have you sing that song right now, man.'
James Allen has been working on his songs for many years. He battled a lot with this objective in his early years. While beginning out in Nashville, he struggled with poverty and was rejected from both America's Got Talent and American Idol. Allen's participation in these events, however, helped pave the path for his future in country music, thanks to some of the connections he made during the audition and preliminary rounds.
James Allen began to make actual headway toward his dream of becoming a country music star after befriending and singing with Scotty McCreery, who went on to win season 10 of American Idol. In 2016, he signed a publishing deal, and in 2018, he released his first official single.
That hit, “Best Shot,” catapulted him into the mainstream. After multiple honours, a new baby, and a successful record, he became the first solo Black vocalist to win New Male Artist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2021.
