Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez celebrated their wedding in Riceboro, Georgia, with family and friends! On August 20, the couple staged a large party at Ben’s private home. Matt Damon and his wife Luciana, George Clooney, Renee Zellweger, Jane Fonda, and Jimmy Kimmel were among the guests that wore white to the event. The wedding, which was organised by Colin Cowie, was officiated by Jennifer’s friend Jay Shetty.
The bride looked stunning in an Italian-designed custom Ralph Lauren Couture gown. The dress appears to have a feathery tulle skirt, as well as a fitted bodice and short sleeves. She complemented the costume with a lovely 20-foot veil, which can be seen above resting on the grass.
According to Hollywood life, other images posted on August 21 depicted the Old Hollywood-themed interior design of the party, which included posters from films such as Gone With The Wind and Casablanca. The remainder of the theme appeared to be farmhouse-inspired, with a sign reading “baby, I love you” — presumably a reference to the 2003 single from her This Is Me… album. Then, an album influenced by Ben. The remaining text on the sign said “Jennifer [loves] Ben” and “heart + soul.” Other photographs depicted rustic wooden reception seats and tables placed around a beautiful four-tiered cake, as well as velvet furniture accents.
According to Entertainment Tonight, guests stayed at the upscale Perry Lane Hotel in Savannah and were photographed chatting in the lobby before the wedding. “Guests were gathered at The Perry Lane Hotel [in Savannah] to board white trolley buses to Jennifer and Ben’s wedding,” one eyewitness reported to the show’s digital arm, disclosing that hotel personnel popped a bottle of champagne before the departure.
“Everyone is dressed in white, with the majority of women in white dresses and gowns and the majority of men in white suits, the majority of which are made of linen, but the dress code allows for a wide range of attire. Some males are wearing white shorts and sneakers, and a woman is wearing a white fringe leather jacket and a glittering cowboy hat, according to an insider, who added that each participant was checked for identification before boarding a bus.
On Saturday, July 16, the party follows the couple’s impromptu (and short) Las Vegas wedding at the famed A Little White Chapel. Only her 14-year-old daughter Emme, whom she shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, and his 13-year-old daughter Seraphina, whom he had with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, were present. Per the filing of her marriage licence, Jennifer legally changed her name to Jennifer Lynn Affleck following the affair.
The following day, the On The 6 singer revealed personal photographs and video from their wedding in her fan email On The JLo. Twenty years after their initial engagement in November 2002, Jen was visibly upset in her letter about their upcoming marriage.
“We did it. Love is gorgeous. Love is nice. And indeed, love proves to be patient. “Twenty years patient,” she said in the note, referring to their 2004 separation and rapid reunion in 2021. Ben re-proposed in April 2022, but instead of a pink diamond, he procured a green diamond — her lucky colour!
“Precisely what we desired. “Last night we went to Las Vegas and, together with four other couples, waited in line for a licence in the wedding capital of the world,” Jen added. “We all desire the same thing: for the world to acknowledge us as partners and for our love to be declared to the world through the ancient and practically universal symbol of marriage… In the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible, and each other have become a reality after a very, very long time,” she added.
The Georgia estate of Ben is situated on the North Newport River, about one hour from historic Savannah. The property is around 87 acres and includes a 6,000-square-foot primary residence, a separate cottage, and a home known as the “Oyster House.” The latter is the largest, at 10,000 square feet and featuring three master suite bedrooms and five standard bedrooms.
