Jenna Ortega Turned Down the “Wednesday” Role at First Before Accepting It!

Jenna Ortega has said that she turned down the role of Wednesday “multiple times” before she finally decided to do it.

Wednesday on Netflix would not be the same without Jenna Ortega. The 20-year-old star does a great job of capturing the spirit of Wednesday Addams. But in the past few months, Jenna has been open about the problems she has with the show. Jenna said on Dax Shepard’s podcast, “I don’t usually watch that kind of TV, so it felt very out of place for me.”

Now, Jenna has talked about how she got the role on Wednesday and why she didn’t want to join the show at first. Jenna Ortega, who plays the show’s main character, Wednesday, told The Times that when she was first cast, she turned down the role of Wednesday.

Jenna said, “I got the email and forwarded it.” The 20-year-old actress was tired of being in TV shows and wanted to try something new. She told the Times, “I’ve done so much TV in my life.” “When I first started acting, no one believed in me. I don’t want to say that nobody believed in me, but nobody did. You have to show what you can do, “she said.

Jenna talked about the change she had gone through by saying, “I’ve only been able to start auditioning for film roles in the last three or four years. I was afraid that joining another TV show would keep me from doing other jobs I really wanted and cared about.”

Tim Burton, the show’s executive producer and director, finally got Jenna to agree to the series, even though she had turned it down at first. “Tim is such a legend, and we got along so well, that’s the only reason I went back,” she said. “But even then, I said a few more times, “Oh, no, I think I’m fine.”

Jenna said this on Dax Shepard’s podcast when she talked more about how hard Wednesday was for her: “I don’t think I’ve ever had to stand up for myself on a set as I did on Wednesday. Everything she does and everything I had to play for her character made no sense at all. It didn’t make sense for her to be in a love triangle.”

Jenna also said that she thought she was going to be on a darker show when she joined the cast. She told me: “I didn’t have all the scripts when I first started. I thought it would be a lot darker than it was. When I finished reading the whole series, I thought, “Oh, this is for kids.” I didn’t know how to feel about it.”

Jenna said at the end of the episode, “I don’t want to be known specifically for [Wednesday]”.
