Jeff Beck: Johnny Depp Gives a Surprising Performance at a Jeff Beck Concert in the U.K.

Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck are going to play together at a number of shows all over the UK. As the Pirates of the Caribbean actor waits for the verdict of his trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard, his stage appearances in Sheffield and London were, to say the least, a surprise.

Johnny Depp went back to his musical roots over the weekend, just two days after the lawyers in his defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard gave their final arguments. Several social media posts and online videos say that the actor surprised fans at a Jeff Beck concert in England on Sunday.

Reports say that Depp and Beck took the stage at the Sheffield show with their guitars to perform “Isolation,” a remake of a John Lennon song from 1970 that they worked on together in 2020. They also did a cover of “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye and “Little Wing” by Jimi Hendrix.

Depp wanted to be a musician before he became an actor. He even talked about his early plans to be a musician on the stand, saying that he wasn’t as successful as he wanted to be, which made him decide to become an actor. Depp also plays with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry in the band Hollywood Vampires.

Since April 11, Depp and Heard have been in district court in Fairfax, Virginia, each giving their side of the story. On Friday, the case was given to the jury to decide. Depp is suing Heard for $50 million in damages over an opinion piece she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018.

Heard is suing Depp back for $100 million. Below are links to YouTube videos of Depp and Beck performing together.

But his work with the Led Boots musician is not a surprise, even if the timing is. Beck introduced Depp at the surprise show at the Royal Albert Hall by saying that the actor had “knocked on my dressing room door about five years ago, and since then we haven’t stopped laughing.”

Depp and Beck Will Play at a Charity Event Called Crossroads in 2019

Depp and Beck have been friends for a long time. They often perform together at events, record cover songs together, or work on new music together. The actor and musician are called “musical soulmates” on Beck’s official website, which also says that the two have been “working behind the scenes on new music for the past few years.”

It’s not a secret that they played together at Eric Clapton’s charity event in Texas in 2019. Beck had played at this event every year for many years before. John Lennon’s song “Isolation” was covered by Depp and Beck for the first time at the Crossroads Music Festival in Dallas. It wouldn’t be the last time, though.

John Lennon’s “Isolation” will be covered by Depp and Beck in 2020.

Back in 2020, when the world was on lockdown, Beck and Depp released a cover of John Lennon’s song “Isolation,” which went viral on social media. Beck, one of the musicians, said at the time that they had been making music together for a while and that Isolation had been recorded and produced the year before.

Even though they had already played Isolation live, they decided to put out the official version, along with a video of the lyrics, in April 2020. Just as the Covid pandemic and the restrictions that came with it forced everyone to stay inside, Beck and Depp decided that “now might be a good time to let you all hear it.”

At the time, Beck said that people would “hear more from Johnny and me in a little while.”

Depp and Beck “Secretly Collaborate” in the Uk in 2021

And in the summer of 2021, the Daily Mail said that Depp had gone to the UK to get away from his messy divorce and recent court battles. There, he met Beck, and they wrote and recorded songs together for weeks while Beck worked on a new album.

At the time, a source told the outlet, “Jeff has been a great friend to Johnny during a very hard time, and Johnny needs to be away from Hollywood.” He wants to stop everything and focus on making a comeback through music.

Depp Joins Beck on Stage at Uk Concerts in 2022.

In 2022, Depp and Heard went to court over a case that got a lot of attention. As soon as the trial was over, Depp flew to the UK to join Beck on tour. Fans were shocked when he walked out on stage in Sheffield, where he and Beck covered Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing.”

They also played their own version of Isolation by John Lennon. People reportedly gave the actor a standing ovation at the Royal Albert Hall show, and many could be heard chanting his name during the applause.

Beck said that he and the actor “haven’t stopped laughing” since the first time they met. He also said that Depp’s surprise appearances were kept quiet because it was “obvious” that he didn’t want to talk about the trial.
