Isabela Ferrer Talks Openly on Working with “Angel” Blake Lively in It Ends with Us: “She is a genuinely good person.”
“It’s really important to be able to connect with the person that you’re sharing a role with,” Ferrer, who portrays Lively’s younger self.
Isabela Ferrer considers Blake Lively, her costar from It Ends With Us, to be “an angel.”
Ferrer talks exclusively to about her initial encounter with Lively and her experience playing the actress’ younger role in the newest love drama.
When Ferrer, 24, met Lively for the first time, she thought, “This is the most beautiful woman I think I’ve ever seen in my whole life,” she tells PEOPLE at the Tuesday, Aug. 6, premiere of the film in New York. “Then she greeted me with the warmest hug ever, and from then on, it was just wonderful warmth and friendship.”
After describing Lively as “an angel,” Ferrer says, “To be able to connect with the person that you’re sharing a role with is huge, and she’s just a really good person.”
She also notes that both women “understood that support is so important, especially through a process like this and especially with a book like this.”
In the movie based on Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel of the same name, Lively plays Lily Bloom. Ferrer portrays a younger Lily; he previously featured in an Evil episode.
Ferrer also tells that what surprised her most about Lively, 36, is “how she manages four children with the businesses that she has and [her] career as an actor and a producer and everything else.”
James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, as well as Olin, 18 months, are the children that Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds had from their marriage.
“I mean, she is Wonder Woman,” Ferrer says of the Gossip Girl alum. “I don’t know how she does it. It’s crazy.”
Ferrer continues to revere Lively for her ability to manage all of her titles with “such grace.”
“Yeah, I couldn’t do it personally,” she jokingly concludes.
Ferrer also addressed Lively’s relationship with Reynolds, stating that she believes the 47-year-old Deadpool & Wolverine star is “a gem” and “such a good person,” despite the fact that she did not encounter him on the It Ends with Us set.
The married couple of 12 years are the “sweetest,” “gorgeous together” and a “power couple,” Ferrer says.
“It’s not even like a lie,” she tells before adding, “I’m saying it first hand.”
Lively, in an exclusive interview, expresses her gratitude for the support of her loved ones, including her mother, Elaine, and sisters Robyn and Lori, at the premiere, stating that it is “the best” to have Reynolds present.
Lively honored Britney Spears by donning a vintage Versace gown that the “Lucky” singer had worn in 2002 on the red carpet. The dress is the “actual” ensemble that Spears wore over 20 years ago, she also exclusively verifies.
Justin Baldoni, Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, and Alex Neustaedter, as well as the author of the book, Hoover, were present in addition to Lively, Ferrer, and Ryan Reynolds.
On Friday, August 9, It Ends with Us will be released in cinemas.
