Heartstopper Season 2 Release Date: When It Will Come Out?
Heartstopper might not be back on TV for a while yet, but there are some exciting new cast members to look forward to in the meantime. Kit Connor, Joe Locke, and Yasmin Finney are all back to play their roles in the second season, which is currently being filmed.
Netflix is also treating fans to some new characters, with Bel Priestly, Ash Self and Thibault De Montalembert all coming on board. People are kind of obsessed with Heartstopper if you look at Netflix's Top 10 list. The coming-of-age story is based on a graphic comic with the same name. It is about two teenage boys, Charlie and Nick, and how they deal with high school, love, and heartbreak.
Heartstopper's first season only covers the first two volumes of Alice Oseman's books. Since there are a total of seven volumes, can we expect a second season? Here's what we know so far, including when the movie is expected to come out, a trailer, and what the actors have said about it.
Read on for all the information you need about Heartstopper's second season.
What is the Heartstopper Season 2 Release Date?
At the time of writing, Netflix has not announced the Heartstopper season 2 release date, but we anticipate the show will return in the summer of 2023. That's based on the fact that filming is already happening and the date that Heartstopper season 1 will be out.
Netflix said in May 2022 that it would be making Heartstopper seasons 2 and 3. The creator of the original graphic novels, Alice Oseman, will also be back.
We said “hi” to the cast of “Heartstopper” in September when they told us that production and filming had begun. Heartstopper's first season only took two months to film. If the same number of episodes are filmed for the second season, we think filming will be done by December 2022.
Season 1's post-production took a little bit longer. It took ten months from the end of season 1's filming to when it was finally released. But now that everyone’s in the groove of things, post-production should be fairly straightforward — with similar Netflix series typically having a six-month post-production period.

What Will Happen in Heartstopper Season 2?
Heartstopper will probably pick up right where it left off when it comes back. Nick has finally told his mom, the famous actress Olivia Colman, that Charlie is his boyfriend. When the rest of the school finds out, it will be interesting to see how they react.
Charlie's almost-ex Ben probably won't be happy about this, since he seems to feel like he belongs to him, even though he won't come out himself. Since Charlie has moved on, it seems to be getting worse.
Not everything is bad, though. Fans of Alice Oseman's graphic novels already know that the next Heartstopper book will be about a school trip to Paris. Even though the trailer hasn't come out yet, the set photo below gives us our first look at Nick and Charlie in France. It shows them sitting outside in Paris in summer clothes.
As well as this, Charlie himself previously suggested he had been struggling with his own mental health in light of coming out, and Alice Osman confirmed to Digital Spy this is something we might see more of going forward.
Fans of the graphic novels already know that Nick is getting ready to tell his father that he is gay. Now that his father has been cast, this could happen in the new season.
In addition to this, there is a lot of hidden homophobia in the school, led by the rich and spoiled Harry. Tao and Elle will also have to deal with their growing feelings for each other as they decide whether to stay friends or become more.
Basically, the drama hasn't even started yet. But, hold on a second, what if there was a Young Royals crossover that made things even more exciting? Both of these dramas about young adults who are LGBTQ+ have been huge hits on Netflix in recent years, so it shouldn't be a surprise that Young Royals stars Edvin Ryding and Omar Rudberg pitched the idea to Gay Times.
