Why GLOW Season 4 Cancelled ?

Have you ever watched the Web series GLOW? NETFLIX have already owned this series and gained popularity all around the world. GLOW has successfully released it’s three seasons on NETFLIX and as the new year starts can we hope to watch more season?

This web series is different from the one you watches, How? The storyline of GLOW a bunch of women joined the professional wrestling group called GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling). So whether the fourth season of Glow is renewed or not? Let’s find out this in this article. But before all this, if you are new to this series, you should know a little bit about this show. GLOW – Know Everything About it

To begin with, this TV show is amazing for the people who are into comedy. GLOW is created Officially for NETFLIX and the Creators of this show are Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch. The girls mainly tend to love this show because of this show officially focused on women.

The main protagonist of this series is Ruth Wilder who is a struggling actress who accidentally bump into the director of the GLOW. The GLOW is a fledgling professional wrestling promotion for young people. Ruth discover that the director of GLOW has employed her best friend, Debbie, who previously worked as a Soap opera actress.

*Spoiler alert*

Debbie and Ruth used to be best friends till Ruth found out that Debbie is actually having an love affair with her husband. During this long evil history they both decided to either make the show or break the show.

GLOW – Will there be Season 4?

The TV series have a total of three season. The first season was premiered on June 23, 2017 which was received well by the critics. Later on the same year August 10, NETFLIX renewed the show for second season. The second season was released on June 29, 2018. The series was again renewed for it’s third season on August 20, 2018, which was released on August 9, 2019.

Moreover, the third season was not complete and that’s why the fourth and final season was decided to renewed on September 20, 2019. But then suddenly, the NETFLIX decided to cut off the fourth season. So, for now on there is no more season 4 of Glow.

GLOW – Why Season 4 is cancelled?

The main reason why this show is cancelled is because of Corona. We are already aware of the fact that the world is suffering from a deadly virus and the production of many movies and TV series are postponed.

Likewise, the reason for the cancellation of this series is also Corona atleast this is what NETFLIX said.

In an interview Flahive and Mensch said –

“COVID has killed actual humans. It’s a national tragedy and should be our focus. COVID also apparently took down our show,”

“Netflix has decided not to finish filming the final season of GLOW. We were handed the creative freedom to make a complicated comedy about women and tell their stories. And wrestle. And now that’s gone.”

Statement of film-maker

Carly Mensch told in an interview “We have hundreds of ideas of what we want to happen, both in Vegas and beyond”

The saddest thing about it is the Developers of the show have decided to do a lot of things. The creative head has a lot of ideas in his mind and they wanted to include in the fourth and last season. However, now they can’t.

The Creator of GLOW, Liz Flahive also said in an interview.

“The truth is that we’re so fortunate with this group of people making this show,”

Furthermore, he added, “When you have this kind of an orchestra, you want to keep playing. It’s a wonderful group of people to work with both in front [of] and behind the camera. It’s so fun and healthy and satisfying and that’s no small thing. We feel very fortunate and that’s another thing — we all really love going to work and we’d like to keep going to work.”

But somewhere we don’t feel that the reason for Cancellation of GLOW. The viewership of this show decreases significantly and this might be a reason. NETFLIX didn’t promote the show much and this led the Cancellation of the show.

GLOW Season 4 – Any chance of Coming back?

As NETFLIX have already cancelled the final and last season of GLOW so we can’t expect Netflix to change his decision. Now, the last season which was season three was ended in a suspense note. Fans are excited to know what happens with Debbie and Ruth and also with the GLOW.

Additionally, the show can come back if any other TV network Decides to take it but until now there is no news about it. If there will be anything regarding the GLOW Season 4 then we’ll let you know but till then it is quite clear that GLOW season 4 is not coming back.

How Fan’s Reacted to the Cancellation News?

As GLOW is already a fan favourite show and its end in a cliffhanger so there is no chance of people not getting mad. Fans started to tweet about Season 4 and here are some for you.

GLOW – Women faces Problem In the show

After the few weeks of cancellation of season 4 of glow, the cast members came up with some mind blow statement regarding the show. The GLOW TV series mainly revolve around women and the problem faced by them. The show tells it’s viewers about some of the social issues such as racial and sexual discrimination.

The actress of the show sent a letter to the creators and producer of the show. They tell that through they are really honoured and blessed for working in the show but somewhere they are “disempowered” by the show too.

In an open letter, they put their thoughts about the things they felt while being in GLOW.

The letter read,

“GLOW has been marketed as a diverse ensemble, but for all of us diverse cast members, it has never lived up to these ideals,”

Through the letter, they said, “Since season one, the show has planted racial stereotyping into our character’s existence, yet our storylines are relegated to the sidelines in dealing with this conflict or have left us feeling like checked boxes on a list…. There is incredible support, love, and camaraderie amidst the GLOW cast, and it should go without saying that we are not here to take down our white castmates or our show, but to elevate us all in a deeper, more significant way.”

GLOW – Ratings of the show

The ratings of the show are must watch in order to judge the show. If you are someone who looks at the ratings before watching the show then we have unfolded the ratings of this show.

The Rotten tomatoes which this show have are 92% not only this but the IMDb rating of this show is 8/10 which is pretty good. The TV.com rated this show 7.2/10.

GLOW – People’s Opinion

The Audience rating summary of GLOW is 4.6 and people enjoyed watching this series. However the number of people voted are only in hundreds which isn’t a good sign for a show.

“Every episode is written beautifully. The show-runners have captured my heart and I love each character dearly. I always love shows that deal with female friendships. At first, I was reminded of Orange Is the New Black, but this one is far better. All the women in this series have been empowering to each other, helping one another along their own unique life paths outside of work. I sat on the couch in silence for a good 5 minutes. I appreciate the raw sexuality and racial identity themes explored. 10/10 “

The GLOW is a NETFLIX series which is based on women and their life. The show focuses on some of the social issues which are faced by everyone around such as racial discrimination and sexual discrimination.

However, with such a good moto of the show, Netflix decided to cancel the season 4 and fans are upset with it. The filmmakers have a wide range of ideas for the season 4 but eventually the season 4 is shut down. The show will only be get back if any other TV network will pick it up.
