Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Teaser Release Date & Plot

Fairy Tail lovers will be happy to hear some exciting news. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, the sequel manga series by Hiro Mashima, will be adapted into an anime series, which is now under development. With almost 300 episodes, Fairy Tail came to a conclusion in 2019. However, in 2018, author Mashima and illustrator Atsuo Ueda released Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, which continued the narrative. Mashima himself revealed in a live-stream event that the magical storey of fire wizard Natsu and his companions will not stop with the conclusion of the original series.

As of right now, Kodansha Comics’ 100 Year Quest has reached its hundredth chapter. While no release date has been announced, Ueda has published a 30-second teaser clip accompanied with a celebration artwork. Fans will recognise some of the more dramatic passages from the original manga in the teaser, which is entirely made up of manga imagery.

Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest picks up from the major tease at the end of the original series, which sees Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, and the core Fairy Tail group taking on one of the toughest missions yet left majorly incomplete, the 100 Years Quest, with writing and storyboarding by Hiro Mashima and illustrations by Atsuo Ueda. With its own anime adaptation, even more fans will be able to join them in this quest.

Since 2018, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest has been available in Japan through Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app, and there are numerous volumes available as of this writing.

It starts up a year after the events of the first series, and the anime will now draw even more attention to the official sequel.

The teaser clip, which was revealed to be in the works during a special “Hiro Mashima Fan Meeting @ Mixalive Tokyo” event in Japan, sadly lacks solid details.

Although it has been confirmed to be a TV anime, no information on the production studio, crew, episode order, potential returning actors, or a premiere date for the new adaptation has been released as of yet.

If you want to get a head start on the sequel before the anime airs, Kodansha Comics has officially licensed Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, and they describe it as follows: “Natsu, Lucy, Happy, Erza, and the entire Fairy Tail guild are back in action!”

And they’ve chosen to take on the ‘100 Years Quest,’ a task that no one has attempted since the guild’s foundation more than a century ago. A strange place, a perplexing ghost, and a terrifying new foe… And there’s a whole new continent to discover. The experiences never end when you’re with true pals!”
