Duff McKagan, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and the bassist for “Guns N’ Roses,” left Roosevelt High School and obtained his GED despite being a brilliant student. Before joining a famed rock band, McKagan was a member of numerous local and party bands in Seattle. He then joined the pop-punk band Fastbacks and recorded their debut single “It’s Your Birthday.”
