Will there be a Season 3 of Doctor Foster?

The series ended on a satisfying note but it further expands the chances of what can happen next. With only 10 episodes released so far, the fans are wondering to know more about their life. But will it happen? 

In an interview with Digital Spy, Suranne Jones said “I’m very busy next year. My whole year is booked up until December 2018,”

She further added by saying “I don’t see where we could fit it. Mike (Writer) has also got a million-and-one amazing project, so I’m really happy that we all did what we did, and then we’ve moved on.

“I’ve signed up for three very different projects which include a theatre project, a film, and a TV project. So I’m just not sure that. Unless you’re talking 10 years’ time? But I can’t think that far ahead.”

So, her statement pretty much clears that due to her busy schedule there are no chances of the third season to release. Along with her, the writer of the show is also busy with his work. There is no pre-prepared script for the show and it would again take time to come with a perfect script. 

The actress also explained and assured the fans that “If Mike comes up with another story, then we’ll talk about it,” it sums up that season 3 lies completely on the shoulder of Mike.

The actress further teased the fans by saying “you should never say never.  “I’m not saying no. Part of me would be so frightened. But who knows? Never say never.”

Now, it tells the audience that season 3 will only happen if there will be any more scripts, and right now the writer is busy preparing the story for some other show. So, you are clearly not going to see the show for now.  In an interview with Radiotimes, the creators confirmed that there will be no future of the show. Where are the Cast members of Doctor Foster Now?

The thriller drama series involves the presence of many actors who are doing amazingly in their field. So far, the main protagonist of this show already said that her schedule is quite busy for a year and she doesn’t really have time for season 3 of Doctor foster. 

While not only her but the other cast members are also quite busy in their works with each of them pursuing their career. 

Bertie Carvel is right now busy shooting a criminal thriller series named Baghdad Central under the popular TV Channel 4. He used to play the role of the husband of Foster.  

He said in an interview, “That ending of series two leaves a lot open to come back to where has the son Tom gone and what’s happening to him? What happens to the parents? That’s the sort of story territory we’d be in, but it’s not written yet.”

He further added by saying, “No-one has ever put pressure on me to make more of it. I think the BBC would rather I did something new, but if we do bring Doctor Foster back it will only thrive if we do it at the right time.”

He also said that “Clearly there’s potential there. But obviously, there would have to be lots of conversations. We need to talk – Suranne and I and lots of other people need to have lots of conversations and we’ll see.”

Is Doctor Foster based on a true story?

The storyline of Doctor Foster may seem a little too dramatic and full of action. Not every fan of this series is aware that indeed this story is taken from 2,500 years ago. 

Yeah, You heard it right. The writer of this show reveals in an interview that the story is based on Greek Mythology which is from 2500 years old. 

The suspicious thing took place in 431 BC which is popularly known as Medea. In the story, the wife decides to take serious retribution with her husband after he decides that he got a serious affair with another woman. 

He admitted this by saying, “In the original pitch, I never actually said, ‘We’re going to do Medea at 9 pm on BBC1,’ because it probably wouldn’t have gone down very well. But that idea was always behind it.”

So, yeah you can conclude that this show is based on a true incident.

There is no official statement regarding this show and I don’t really think that the third season of Doctor Foster will take place. The series has already been popular but the views decline as the show started to release more of its episodes.
