Doc Martin Season 10 Release Date: Can We Expect Upcoming Season in 2022?

The tenth and final season of the popular drama created by Martin Clunes is titled, Doc Martin. It will therefore be bittersweet for fans when the programme returns to ITV in the fall of 2022, only to conclude with a Christmas special.

Since 2004, the drama based in the Cornish village of Portwenn has been a regular feature of ITV's schedules and has gained worldwide popularity, from Spain and Italy to Scandinavia and Australia.

Martin Clunes, who has portrayed the cantankerous Dr. Martin Ellingham for over two decades, adds, “I've enjoyed travelling to Cornwall to film Doc Martin for the past 18 years, and I'm looking forward to returning this year for the tenth and final season.” Cornwall residents, and Port Isaac in particular, have been incredibly helpful during the production of the series.

Release Date of Doc Martin season 10

Doc Martin starts on ITV on September 7, 2022, at 9:00 p.m., as a major part of the autumn television schedules, with the Christmas special airing in December. There are eight episodes in this series. On Monday, October 17, season 10 of Doc Martin will premiere in the United States on Acorn TV.

The plot of Doc Martin Season 10

At the conclusion of the last season of Doc Martin in 2019, Doc chose to quit as Portwenn's general practitioner after his medical career was scrutinised by the General Medical Council due to his blood phobia. In this final season of Doc Martin, he makes efforts to conquer his anxiety and begins to question whether retiring was the correct move.

In addition, he and his wife Louisa have recently given birth to a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, who is the younger sister of James Henry, who is four years old. We predict that their household will be quite chaotic in this series. With Louisa pursuing her new work as a child counsellor in his old surgery, the Doc is left actually cuddling the baby and repairing clocks at the kitchen table as a hobby. But does he truly desire his previous position?

There is also a view of a woman standing at the base of a cliff, though it is unclear what the image depicts.

In the last episode, the General Medical Council was investigating Martin. At the conclusion of the episode, surgeon Bernard Newton (Tom Conti) arrives in Portwenn to evaluate the physician and his practice. He dreaded returning home and breaking the news of his resignation to his wife Louisa (Caroline Catz). Louisa is expecting a kid, she revealed to him upon his arrival at the house.

The conclusion of Series 9 left fans with even more unanswered questions than before. It appears that Season 10 will deliver an abundance of answers, so be on the lookout.
