Dmitry Mazepin, the father of Nikita Mazepin, was one of the oligarchs present at Putin’s meeting.
While there is a documented list of attendance here, Dmitry may be seen at the meeting on the right of the photograph wearing a maroon tie, with his arms in his lap and in front of the cameraman in a grey blazer.
In the last month, the two had also met one-on-one. Dmitry has previously received awards from the Russian government.
Mazepin Sr is the founder and CEO of Uralchem, a Russian fertiliser firm.
Uralkali, the official sponsor of the Haas team, is one of the brands within the Uralchem banner.
And it was supposedly because of this sponsorship deal that Nikita Mazepin was able to clinch his seat in Formula One.
The Haas team, on the other hand, said on Thursday evening that it will abandon the Uralkali colours — including the Russian flag – and run in a simple livery.
