Dave Hollis, a former Disney executive and president of the studio’s global distribution, has reportedly passed away, according to a number of media outlets. On Saturday night, he passed suddenly at the age of 47 at his Austin, Texas, home.

When Did Dave Hollis Take Over as Disney’s Head of Distribution?
For those of you who are unaware, let us inform you that Dave took over as Chuck Viane’s replacement as Disney’s head of theatrical distribution in 2011. He oversaw films from Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and Pixar as well as live-action remakes of vintage animated films and brand-new animated productions during this time, which coincided with several of the studio’s biggest box office hits in its history.
