Crisis PR Manager Hired by Justin Baldoni Amid “It Ends With Us” Ensemble Drama

Baldoni is the director and protagonist of the recently released film, which serves as an opposition to Blake Lively.

A source familiar with the matter has informed that Justin Baldoni, the director and actor of It Ends With Us, has engaged Melissa Nathan of The Agency Group as his crisis public relations manager in response to allegations of drama involving the cast, including his co-star Blake Lively.

The film, which was inspired by the best-selling novel by Colleen Hoover, premiered on Friday, August 9.

Baldoni posed with his wife Emily at the New York premiere on Aug. 6, but he was not present with the rest of the cast, which includes Lively, Brandon Sklenar, Isabela Ferrer, and Jenny Slate.

Baldoni was also conspicuously absent from other group promotional appearances, such as the London premiere, and did not participate in the film’s introduction at the screening.

Baldoni and Lively portray a couple whose relationship turns into abuse in It Ends With Us.

Additionally, Baldoni and Lively have credits earned behind the camera.

In 2019, Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, acquired the rights to Hoover’s book, years prior to Lively’s casting announcement in January 2023. Baldoni is acknowledged as an executive producer.

Lively, who holds a producer credit, has expressed her gratitude to her spouse, Ryan Reynolds, for his innovative contributions to the film.

Speaking at the New York premiere According to Lively, her spouse penned a critical rooftop scene featuring Lily and Ryle, the characters of her and Baldoni.

“The iconic rooftop scene, my husband actually wrote it. Nobody knows that but you now,” Lively told on the red carpet. “We help each other,” she added. “He works on everything I do. I work on everything he does. So his wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his. I mean, he’s all over this film.”

The screenwriter of the film, Christy Hall, acknowledged that the particular scenario was “probably the trickiest one to tackle” due to its “perfect fit in the novel.” She also stated that she was unaware that Reynolds had contributed to the dialogue used in the final version of the sequence, but she did observe a few new additions.

“All is not what it seems,” a set source previously told. “There is much more to this story. The principal cast and [author] Colleen Hoover will have nothing to do with him.”

It Ends with Us is currently playing in theaters.
