Review of Copshop

Copshop does not have a very unique setup. It isn’t a new story but that doesn’t make it bad. It is a good film which leaned on its action and thrill and delivered it perfectly.

A sense of old-school action is what makes the film familiar and special but also touches reality. It does not seem unrealistic and keeps you engaged all through it’s running time.

The suspense is intriguing and does not lead to much extravagance. This works well for the story and makes it enjoyable.

Copshop

However, there is one thing that remains absurd about the movie. The police station doesn’t look like a regular police station. It rather is made like a corporate office with cops having big desks.

The fancy ceilings and the bright lights seem quite expensive. This makes the movie a little unreal.

Although, the first hour does make you question if it is as thrilling as it promises to be. The doubt is soon gone when a psycho killer enters the station with balloons as a ruse and starts firing his machine gun.

After that, the mayhem is everywhere and leads to more excitement and drama. Joe, the director does try to rebuild his regular action thriller but tries too hard to create a complex film.

He purposely tries to confuse the audience. Although, ends up making a simple action movie that is appreciated by all.

Box Office Response

As of November 26, 2021, Copshop has earned $5.2 million in the United States and Canada, and $1.5 million in other regions with a worldwide total of $6.7 million.

Conclusion

This depicts that the film did perform well but it wasn’t tremendous. It was an average film with a simple plot and an amazing cast. The entire premise was perfect. Copshop is a movie one can watch with friends and not think too much about it.
