Christina Hall Experienced Something Like Josh Hall Didn’t “Contribute Enough” to the Household Before Divorce
Following their private October 2021 wedding, HGTV fans were cheering for Christina Hall and Josh Hall, so their breakup shocked them. More details about how their interpersonal dynamic changed over time have emerged in the wake of their divorce proceedings.
“Christina was attempting, but circumstances arose, and it simply wasn’t functioning,” an insider disclosed to Us Weekly on July 24. “Christina finished when she turned in the paperwork. She’s doing so well, but it’s difficult.
The insider continued by claiming that discussions over money were the root of several of their relationship’s issues.
“Christina is successful and puts in a lot of effort,” the source informed the publication. “She thought Josh wasn’t doing enough to help out around the house.”
Josh, who has starred on HGTV’s Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country, filed a request on July 16th asking for equal distribution of community property accumulated during the marriage as well as spousal maintenance.
In April 2022, the couple bought a house in Newport Beach, California. Christina, 41, is requesting that her husband’s claim to spousal support be terminated.
Not having worked with the former spouse, attorney Dror Bikel also discussed what to expect from the divorce process.
“She’s the wealthy spouse; she achieved greater success.” We are aware of this because he is requesting an equal distribution of their joint property and assets, including alimony, from the media program,” he told Us Weekly.
Citing their collaborative performances, he added, the court “will ask if people are tuning in for her or for him.” Is it comparable? Her supporters would probably contend that since more people are watching her and the split isn’t 50/50 but rather 80/20, she should receive a larger portion of the earnings.
During their marriage, Christina and Josh, both 43, did not welcome any children together. She is the mother of two children, Hudson from her second marriage to Ant Anstead, and Taylor and Brayden from her first marriage to Tarek El Moussa.
Christina and Josh were collaborating with Tarek and his spouse, Heather Rae El Moussa, on their new program, The Flip Off, before their breakup. The show will go on without Josh, Tarek, 42, and Heather, 36, revealed in an interview with E! News on Tuesday, July 23.
“Compete to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain (and a chance at major bragging rights)” was the original premise of the show, according to HGTV. The plot is now “us against her,” according to Heather.
The Selling Sunset actress remarked, “But we support her,” adding that she is confident Christina will “get through this” trying period in her life.
The split was especially startling because, only a few weeks before they filed for divorce, Christina had gushed about the key to her marriage to Josh.
Before her birthday on July 9, she said to E! News that she was “being communicative.”
The TV personality said, “Maintain open lines of communication, and then having alone time when we can, whether it’s date night, going on little trips — just things like that.”
