Is Blood & Treasure Season 3 Got Cancellation at CBS or Paramount+?

Blood & Treasure started in May 2019 on CBS. It was made by Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia and stars Matt Barr and Sofia Pernas. Season 2 was ordered halfway through Season 1 because the ratings were good for the summer. Unfortunately, production shutdowns caused by the pandemic slowed down filming for Season 2, which didn’t finish until mid-December 2020. Blood & Treasure finally got a date for the start of Season 2 on the third anniversary of its first airing.

According to Deadline “Blood & Treasure” will not be back for a third season on either CBS or Paramount+.

In the action-adventure drama, Danny McNamara, an expert on ancient artefacts, and Lexi Vaziri, a smart art thief, worked together to catch a cold-blooded terrorist who uses stolen treasure to pay for his attacks.

Blood & Treasure season 3

“When terrorist Karim Farouk steals a valuable artefact and kidnaps Danny’s mentor, Dr. Anna Castillo, Danny asks Lexi to help him bring Farouk to justice and save Anna. As they try to find Farouk, they meet shady people who could be useful allies or dangerous enemies. For example, Aiden Shaw, an arms dealer who only looks out for himself, and Simon Hardwick, an expert at getting stolen artefacts, are two such people.

Father Chuck, a childhood friend of Danny’s who works at the Vatican Foreign Ministry in Rome, helps them on all of their adventures. Interpol agent Gwen Karlsson hears about their search and wants Farouk to be brought to justice, but she won’t let Danny and Lexi break international laws to do so. As Danny and Lexi travel around the world to find their target, they are surprised to find themselves in the middle of a fight for the birthplace of civilization.

On the day the Season 2 finale came out, Federman told fans on Twitter, “I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m very proud of what we got to do with this show, shooting our little action/adventure on four continents and through a pandemic. Thanks to our partners at CBS for having faith in us and to our amazing writers, cast, crew, and staff for making it happen. It really was the trip of a lifetime. And thank you to everyone who watched and spread the word.”
