Annika Season 2 Release Date: Cast And Crew, Plot, Trailer and Is There Going to Be Another Series of Annika?
Annika is a British crime drama television series based on the BBC Radio 4 drama Annika Stranded. A pilot episode was produced by Black Camel Pictures for Alibi and All3Media on August 17, 2021.
Scotland's Detective Inspector Annika Stranded has been assigned to the Glasgow Marine Homicide Unit, where she will investigate cases involving people who died at sea. She is accompanied by her adolescent daughter. Annika and her daughter will reunite after the show concludes.
Annika shares a great deal of her Norwegian ancestry with the original radio show's cast. He also conceptualised the radio show Annika Strandhed, starring Nicola Strandhed as Annika Strandhed and set in Oslo.
Annika Season 2 Cast
If a second season is ordered, we can expect Nicola Walker to reprise her role as DI Annika Stranded in the show's home country of Scotland.
Jamie Sives (Guilt), Katie Leung (The Nest), Ukweli Roach (Blindspot), and Kate Dickie (The Cry) are all expected to reprise their roles as members of her Marine Homicide Unit.
Morgan, played by Silvie Furneaux, as well as her psychiatrist and Annika's love interest, Dr. Jake Strathearn (Paul McGann), are expected to return.
The Plot of Annika Season 2
Scotland served as the backdrop for the film. Annika Stranded is the head of Glasgow's Marine Homicide Unit in “Annika.” She is an enigmatic detective who never tells the truth.
Almost identical to the show, the detective began his career as a member of the Oslo police murder squad. Morgan, a bright but erratic adolescent, is struggling to adjust to her new home in Glasgow. Interludes throughout the show demonstrate how difficult their mother-daughter relationship is.
Even though Annika, the only Annika, plays a significant role in her child's development, she is a strong woman. Numerous cats are struck at work. A man's body was recovered from the River Clyde with a harpoon embedded in his head.
When another person is murdered, Annika finds herself in a race against time to solve the mystery and prevent additional victims. DI Annika Stranded and her team are assigned their first case as soon as a man's body is recovered from the Clyde.
They are aware that the man's boat shop is not operating as expected and that he is not interested in a shady business. If another murder occurs, a race against time will ensue to prevent additional murders.
Release Date: Is There Going to Be Another Series of Annika?
There has not been sufficient green light for the production of Annika's second season to begin. As a result, filming may be delayed. This means that new episodes may not air in the United Kingdom this summer.
If the first take is successful in October, the new episodes could air on Alibi in late spring or early summer 2023, followed by Giallo in Italy in the fall.
Is There a Trailer for Season 2 of Annika?
Not yet, but as soon as confirmation of a second season becomes available, we will update this page.
Where Can I Watch the Annika Season?
Annika appears in a total of six episodes. “Annika,” a new crime drama from PBS Masterpiece, will premiere on the PBS Masterpiece Amazon Prime Video Channel on Sunday, April 17.
