Fans expected that a lot of people would die in the first season of Andor, and they were right. Maarva (Fiona Shaw), Nemik (Alex Lawther), and Skeen (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) all died, and it's unlikely that any of them will come back, except maybe in a flashback.

What Might Happen in Season 2 of Andor?

Tony Gilroy has talked about what's coming up for Andor in several interviews. In one with Rolling Stone, he said that when the show comes back, things will be “very different.”

“The first year is really about him becoming, and the last line of these 12 episodes will sum up where we've been going. And we'll be back in a year. It's going to be very different,” he said.

“The next four years of the story don't have anything to do with becoming a revolutionary. They are about learning to be a leader, how hard it is to put an alliance together, what happens to people who are the original gangsters versus the establishment, and a lot of other things.

Every three episodes of season 2 of Andor will jump forward one year, but Gilroy has promised that the show won't feel any less detailed.

“Now that we can play the empty space, things get interesting. When you skip a year, what did you miss? You know the people and how their lives turned out. It gives me energy,” he told Rolling Stone as he went on. “People get older, get tired, betray each other, change their minds, get weak, and go crazy.”

Gilroy has also said that season 2 of Andor will have more of a connection to the main Star Wars story. He said that the rebel base on Yavin 4 will be a key part of the story as it speeds towards the events of A New Hope.

When talking to Collider about a new member of the writing team, the showrunner forgot to mention this fact.

He said, “Tom Bissell is really cool, really, really interesting, flexible, and a really good writer.” “But also a very, very, very big Star Wars fan, and we really wanted to make sure we had another pro because we're going into Rogue [One].

“We're going to Yavin, and then we're going to places where we'll have to really weave our way back to the source.”
