A Documentary film on India’s Four smart cities to premiere on Independence Day

As India is celebrating its 74th Independence Day, a new event has been organized called “trailblazing journey”. It is a new documentary film and the main motive of this mission is to build smart cities in India. It will give the citizens a certain hope that by their cooperation India can become one of the most modern and strongest countries in the world.

Name of all smart Cities

The main four cities which they mainly focused on are Surat, Visakhapatnam, Pune, and Varanasi. The Government will try to develop these four cities into a modern society where they will develop certain spheres such as infrastructure, transportation, technology, renewable energy, restoration and preservation of heritage, etc. By doing these it will help to develop the country economically, import-export, and culture.

When the documentary will telecast?

The 44-minute film will be telecast on August 15 at 6 pm on National Geographic channel, in which the show will be named as ‘The Next Frontier: India’s Smart Cities’.  This program has collaborated with the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The actual motive for documenting the film

Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said that this film will portray us how the smart cities will be developed and became the next generation of cities of tomorrow. He also said that they are not only doing projects in only four cities but they are planning on changing the country to one of the most developed countries in the world. The documentary also chronicles the trailblazing journey which aims to transform Indian cities he said.

Advantages of this mission

The World Economic Forum has predicted that by the mid of 2020 there will be about 70- 80 percent of people started living in the cities due to the migration of people from rural to urban areas. the Government of India will drive economic growth and improve the quality of life of people by enabling local development and building technology

The mission will initially begin with 100 cities chosen from across different states of the country. Anuradha Aggarwal said ‘’we will showcase a national initiative that has transformed the lives of people across four lighthouse cities. India has been at the center of this paradigm of development’’.

Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, said that he hopes this film will help the people to understand about India’s Smart Cities Mission to the world. He stated , ‘’The film offers a unique insight as they rise to face the challenges of progressive India by thinking smartly. Our smart cities are the harbinger of new ideas and transformative thinking in India’s urban journey’’.
